The mustard seed represents "growth, faith and dependance."
Growth takes place when one learns to have faith and believe. True faith is born out of perfect love, not fear. Perfect love is not found in the subconscious mind which is described as "Power without direction" rather, from the "Superconscious mind which is the God mind within each of us. The Parable of the Mustard Seed (Matthew 13: 31-32):
"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches."
